Trion Worlds is seeking a Project Manager who will schedule and track the progress of our creative services team’s multiple projects. The successful candidate will ensure project objectives are clearly articulated and attainable, projects are correctly prioritized and scoped, and team morale meets or exceeds our high expectations.

 

rESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all phases of multiple concurrent projects as part of a program
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Participate in the determination of project priorities and scope for the publishing department
  • Establish and maintain project schedules and audits, tracking progress toward meeting project goals
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and department leadership to define project objectives, gather requirements, manage the project's cost-time-scope constraints, identify scope of work, determine dependencies, and define deliverables and delivery dates
  • Play a key role in calculating estimates for resources, costs, and participants needed to achieve project goals; where needed, submit budget proposals and staffing recommendations
  • Manage cross-department communications and expectations
  • Ensure all project documentation for the area of responsibility is accurate and complete
  • Proactively conduct risk assessment analysis and contingency planning on an on-going basis
  • Prepare progress reports on a regular and as-needed basis
  • Employ standard project management tools and processes including work breakdown structures, critical path analysis, and earned value management; apply adaptive development models as appropriate
  • Manage team toward achievement of objectives and contribute to cross-organizational initiatives
  • Support an open atmosphere and a high level of interaction with all team members to ensure quality progress toward timeline attainment, appropriate escalation of work-load issues, effective recruiting, appropriate coaching, and management of team; redirect when necessary
  • Work closely with external partners to ensure on-time and on-budget deliverables and milestones
  • Support a positive studio culture for team members' quality of life and morale
  • Participate in deliverables as needed to support the team and projects
  • Manage personnel in area of responsibility totaling 20+ employees, may directly supervise 1-2 employees
  • Appropriately execute all management functions
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong team and people management skills and ability to remain objective, fair, and consistent

  • Ability to identify risks and issues, and take appropriate resolution steps including changes in work methods, technologies, strategies, and project schedules
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing stakeholders for prioritization and scope management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining team morale and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Computer skills must include Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and MS Project
  • Proven track record  through several project cycles; previous experience managing game publishing projects desired
  • 7-10 years of experience including managing multiple, concurrent projects
  • Experience managing web-based product creation or digital creative product projects
  • Ability to work independently with strong initiative
  • Willingness to participate in the efforts of the team if it is necessary to achieve the project objectives
  • Excellent written, visual,  and oral communication skills
  • Must excel in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and collaborative environment
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and driven
  • Awareness of the competitive landscape, industry trends, and all aspects of product development, especially as it relates to the managed product
  • Must be a gamer with volunteer industry experience or have worked in the video game industry
  • Ability to manage others through the use of best practices and project management methodologies
