What I like most in this piece is your color pallet. The bounces of brown in this sort of tree/shrub texture next to the fresh splashes of blue have me thinking of a freshwater flood washing away mud (which could be a metaphor for soldiers being wiped out by an energy weapon). Its an interesting opposition between your character and your background that sets me up for something exciting.
Excellent. Great loose style.
It's this loose style that I'm trying to pick up on. Or I should say, it's the habit and compulsiveness of too much detail (when painting quick concepts) that I'm trying to unlearn. Thanks for posting; very inspiring.
Generic Marine design but the brushes and subtle hint of atmosphere give it depth. Good stuff.
great energy in the brushwork :)
Love it, great work here!
