"...the escape from gravity is the last and most diffcult of all the disquisitions to be a modern angel, one has to deny all physics for at least a few seconds out of the mind..."
the apprentice

Inspired by some modern Masters such as *pascalblanche and Michael Parkes and a tribute to some classical like Dalí and Leonardo, this piece took me one whole week on and off!
If i had to do exam again with a digital painting, this would it be, let alone for the work and process involved!

After an initial sketch, the composite was done with some rough poser figures and a texture for the stone and background, the mechanical wings where done using NSP-clay mixed with findings and overpainting them with physical airbrush , photographed and incorporated into the painting.

The lighting and anatomy was a kind of experiment here, but think i have managed it to look believable though the stylized look on the face and poses are intended to look not too realistic. The composition was a very brave experiment itself and inspired mostly by Parkes works, since there is a golden point and a directional curve with the circular shapes that one can find wheb taking a closer look.

It might not be the last piece in that direction, but i love to mix styles together, to come up with a new one, and after taking a look at the rest of my gallery here, it fits...
Characters created with help from poser /daz studio, attachment with nsp -clay and some stocks from my own.
only the background painting is based upon a stock from: ~fadingmemories-stock
