A promotional image for the Crimson Dynamo Boss that appears in the Iron Man 2 video game, developed by Sega for the PS3 and Xbox360 console systems.

After creating and rendering several different poses this was chosen to reflect the pose in the initial concept art. When the final render was complete a painted background and some spark effects were added in Photoshop by Silvio Aebsicher and Matt Butler. The model has fully articulated weapons and Tesla coil system, a complete cockpit interior and swappable damaged armor plates since the model was also used for in-game cut scenes. This model was modeled, UV layout, texture, shader set-up and rendering done in Modo.

This model is featured in a press release by Luxology here:

A turntable with animations and VFX can be found here:

It can also be seen in issue #15 of 3D Artist magazine in an article about the art of the Iron Man 2 game:

The fully textured High Rez Sub-D Model that I created, can be seen in the Sega Iron Man II Prologue trailer:

Here you switched maya with modo as your primary software. Have you become a modonaut? :D
Love the piece. Saw it on luxology forums. The animation is great too.
