      Why have the dudes in the pic stopped fighting? Doesn't look like they've won or even defending something. Interesting.

        Don't know what gave you the impression they are in the middle of combat, looks more like they are patrolling or simply standing guard to me, maybe preparing to move out.

        Anyway it's a cool image...book looks very nice too.
