Great job, and for anyone who does not think this type of work can be done without tracing over an image all you need to do is go to Chrisscalf.com or check out Dru Blair. Scalf is a digital artist/Illustrator who works on photo realism for texture and lighting practice, and Dru Blair is an AIRBRUSH artist who works in photo realism for portraits, animals, but mostly aeronautics paintings. Dru has done work so highly detailed that you cannot see a difference from photo to finished product. His color theory classes are 3 days long and run from $1000.00-$1800.00 per seminar. Most artists do photo real studies as practice for lighting and texturing so that when they need to create from scratch they have a very good mental vocabulary to achieve high end results without reference.
