    Reworking of an old model in zbrush
    Realistic versions of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles doesn't exactly make you popular with the properties fans. In fact, I've received quite a bit of hate mail over this image, but incredibly just as many have said they love it.  it's very strange to see such a blatant divide. I simply wanted to just do something different. I had a pet turtle when i was a boy, and tried to keep as much of the look of him intact in the sculpt.  It'll be interesting to see what designs are selected for the new live action Ninja Turtles movie. It will be hard to please all the fans, i'm sure.

    This character will eventually be part of a much larger scene.




    Design elements are a hybrid of the Chrysemys picta and Trachemys scripta elegans.

    I used the new lights feature in zbrush and hand painted the textures from photo reference.

      Really sweet, but in trying to be "realistic" with a totally fictitious creature I think you may have gone a bit over board with the red for flash in the texture.

        I think you're right - The red should be more refined. I'll revise the color design in my next stage.
