This is probably my favourite character model I've seen on Cghub... what was your workflow for this guy? The texture painting is unreal.
Hey guys, do to popular demand, i finally added the wire-frame to my gallery.
I think the fact that there is no modeled out animateable face really helps lower the polycout.
SimonvandenBroek: There isn't anything special to tell you about the process, it went through the standard character model workflow at the time, low poly, UV and texture. I modeled and UVd it in 3ds max. I painted it in from scratch in Bodypaint, and finished up texture in Photoshop.
One strange little tidbit was i had to make this guy work with our character armor system, that made UVing and texturing him a bit more tricky since there is just so much stuff.
I think most of the people including me surprised by the polycount, we would like to see the wireframe, if you don't mind.
Hey this looks very awesome, I'd appreciate it if you could tell a bit a more bout the process and perhabs show us a wireframe version.
Thanks Adrian, it's an honor to hear from you. I was pretty much just given your awesome Chaos Armybook Illustration as my concept for this. I just repainted it all as a 3d character model and made up the back view.
this is mostly amazing! For some reason or another the cool looking knee pads look extremely flat. Other than that, I really think you've done a great job!
Hey whats up, thanks for the kind words everyone.
KOS: i have the wires for this on my website if you really want to check them out.
I may decide to put the wires up here to, but i kinda like just having the finished painted work here, well see.
thanks again all.
This got in on the front page for the editors pick archive, that is Sooooo awesome... ...WOW!!! ... ...I'm not worthy.
Stunning work, totally love this character - reminds me of the good old days of warhammer roleplay :)
