    Is this photoshop only? (Using the new brush functions?) Because the left of the image has this really artrage/painterly quality to it, great texture/structure in the paint strokes nonetheless!

      I think the artist said he uses the smudge function

      I least that's what I think I remember on a conceptart.org post,,,
