Ambush was made as an 8' tall animatronic puppet for Real Steel. Myself, Ian Joyner, Darnell Isom, and Polet Harutnian all worked on this guy. Along with modeling i was in charge of getting this guy into the shop so he could be a real bot.

After the digital work, the rest of the talented team at Legacy Effects took over. This guy ended up being my favorite of the bots just because he was so messed up.

      I don't exactly know how each piece was made as each robot was a lot of pieces. Some were "grown" in a plastic and others in a large foam. Some smaller pieces were made on the Objet that is in house. Each piece was then sanded and polished to get a smooth result.

      If I remember right, Ambush was about 50 parts, Noisy Boy was about 70-80 parts and then Atom was around 100 parts.
