Another character sketch
from my personal project. This guy is the requisite companion to the
protagonist throughout her adventures, and he acts as a guiding force in her
development from introvert to heroine as the story progresses. Personality-wise, Orannis is
intelligent, thoughtful, and deeply protective of those he cares about. He also
has a very strong sense of right and wrong, making him chivalric almost to a
fault. As to what he
is, Orannis is a celestial being. He is a personification of creative
energy, able to manipulate the surroundings around him to an extent. For
example, he can form solid objects out of air, make illusions by warping light,
and slow down time to a degree. I still haven't figured out all the strengths
and weaknesses of his ability or personality, but I think he'll be interesting
to write as a character! I may eventually make an official character
sheet for him and others once I get their defining traits set in stone. (P.S. If you can figure out
which book inspired his name, kudos to you! Here's a hint: It's from aseries written
by Garth Nix.)
