Changes I have made over the past couple of days.

the lighting is much better after some changes. but i think the pear on the right side is... the shape is too round.

I agree, that's one of the next things on my list is to reshape the right pear, and also add some texture variations to make each one look unique.

The background is really distracting because I can tell you're using a plane because it looks flat and the lighting of the pear is different.

Try using lens blur technique so the scene has a sense of depth or use several layers of alpha planes for the background. The environment lighting needs to be the same as the one inside.

I think your pears are cute in their round shape.But pulp seems not very suitable for a pear,and change the background will be better.
