Hey guys,
I finally managed to get something done!
Getting the skeleton right was a lot harder than I thought, I got a bit messed up at first, but managed to get on the right tracks again with some investigation.
My study is, of course, the crow

Hi, I'm new here & also in digital painting. Really interested in this bird study topic. Just not very clear about the reference image rules. From what I understand we have to take our own photos and not paint over? But I see links to reference photos for us to study & paint. So is it we are allowed to use ref pictures from internet as long as it is painted freehand?

Well I am using stock imagery, I assume some others are as well but that is a very good question d13598. I would like to know the full answer myself

Finals are up, for those that want to go ahead and post your final entry:
      http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9998

@d13598 & TwoDD: Don't worry, you can use them as reference. The thread was given to all the challenges in the same manner and it does apply for other challenges, but because of the nature of the Anatomicae challenges we can do an exception, however, what is not allowed is to do a paintover, there are no exceptions there.
I'll make sure to fix that up so there are no further confusions, thnxs for pointing it out and welcome to the Challenges!

@Revolver: Great study, man! Beautifully done!

@MaximVerehin: Sure thing, man, I'll try to get the finals up from now on earlier for those who finish quickly. Great entry btw, I absolutely love it! The render of the wings is just gorgeous and the skeleton study is jaw dropping!

          My skeleton study.
Very difficult to find the correct leg position, and still in doubt about some parts...

              Great job so far, guys
I'm undergoing a sort of dry spell, I just can't seem to progress haha I'll update my update as soon as I stop loathing it :P
I was wondering if somebody who has already finished could share the brush he used to render the feathers, I just can't find any suitable one :P
