Anyone can be an expert if you repeat the action 10,000 times. With art there is that extra need though... the ability to see... to look at a flower and see worlds and... well you will hear stuff like that worded a thousand ways... practice and learn to see and you will be fine.

It's like any talent. Take singing, you can learn the notes but then look at american idol. 16 years old and singing like that? Thats something they're born with. Same thing with art.

Anyone who wants to can learn to draw and paint, you just have to understand what you are doing and develop your skills.
It takes time, but it's worth it if you like it.

Think of the learning process as -> a skinny person can't become a massive bodybuilder in a week, takes time and dedication to build.

i agree with sixilli, just practice, practice and practice some more. only way to get better. i agree that some people have got the talent that they will just pick up things quicker than others but its mainly if you have a passion and you work hard daily youll get to where you want.. well so i keep telling myself

This is a good comparison, but the difference is that an ectomorph is going to have to fight tooth and nail for every kilogram of muscle while mesomorphs have it come easy to them, and if both of them work out with the same intensity the mesomorph is still going to come out on top.

My point is that there's a lot of substance to both arguments - that "anyone can do it so long as they practice' and that "some people have it and some don't". I'd say its a mixture of the two - more a grey scale of difficulty then a "Bobby can art but Tim can't".

This is just my two cents as having known 30 year olds who 'draw every day" but suck and younger peeps who're pretty damn good at what they do. Sure, practice counts for a lot, but some people should just consider another line of work.

This. Talent...hmm, yes maybe, but it's more that it's a passion that you have or not. You might have the talent, but what important is what you do with it. One of my teachers once said I had no talent, so I don't care about talent. I care about what I like to do, so I just do that.

this is very common question.
the answer is really clear.

drawing skill is grow up the same with your knowledge,logic,experience,fantasy and so on with learning or excercise you will get there.

the most important point "love it" without that you will never be a great artist

i am sure 100% the best artists here on cghub are before not so great like now, and i am sure 100 % they like/love drawing.

talent i would like to say the same like an interest,
some people more interest into drawing,singing,writing,reading and so on...bla..bla.

there for if people has interest more into drawing they would achive easily then people who doesnt has interest at all or just because somebody push you to do it.

the step:
1.start with loving it.
2.do rutin exercise or study.
3.reading and to do some research.
4.listening advice from the expert(if you get possibility).
5.never give up.

one they you will be a great artist.

As said Above its a small percentage of 'talent' and a lot of practice love and motivation!
there might be some exceptions but the general rule should be something like that
