Default Motion capture file into custom rigg - How?

I have my cowboy rigged, all nicely and named.

Instead of going to animate it frame by frame, I’m wondering how can I apply a motion capture FBX file into my custom made rigg. I'm not an animator or rigger, I’m new to this area.

I was told to check on the HumanIK. I did and is great and looks easy enough. However, that still didn’t answer my question if I can insert a mocap file in a custom rigg as shown in the image below.

Should I just simply throw away the rigg and start again with HIK?

I’m new to this and appreciated for any tips, directions or suggestions are all welcome.

    Thank you.

You can do it but you need to change name of skeleton controllers. If know motion builder application than you can change motion capture file as per requirement.
