Gadbury: wow! that's awesome! great mood
Jeromo: hilarious XD love the story

here's my progress so far. I really wanted to do that rainbow splatter element, but then decided that I could use the practice of creatures in an environment, so went for a more traditional kind of composition. And playing with some colors.

LynxMb: I would watch your anatomy the right horse is missing its front legs and the left one is very bottom heavy.

Horses are tricky to draw so I would advise everyone to look at some reference images to really get the feel for them

how do you make your image bigger? I read how to post and I know how to make thumbnails but how do you put the full image on the thread like everyone else. I'm a noob when it comes to forums and threads

Upload it as normal using the green paperclip then click the green paperclip again and 'insert all attachements' or just the images you want and click them. It should add something like Attachment 45309845 into your post and they will show up as full size images.

Do try and resize them to a 'forum friendly' size before you do this

I think the anatomy problems are too big to save it tbh. I would either go for a more stylised, exaggerated almost cartoon like unicorn or really get some good references and make sure your anatomy is as good as you can manage

Your colour pallette is very bluey/purple too, there is little contrast in the image and while you have some nice reflected light from the ice going on its not overly clear where the light is, or if they are in a cave where it is coming from. I think before you move from a sketch (especially with a tradition piece) you need to be 100% critical with yourself that everything is working out right. And even before then perhaps do a few thumbnails to work out composition, poses, light source and background and try a few colours over those to see how they look.

Most of the anatomy is better in this version! I do however feel the neck/head are a tad small, compared to how large and muscular the rest of him looks.
