A SUPERHERO TURNED VILLAIN

In the life of every superhero there's a defining moment, that turns them from an average man into the iconic character. IMAGINE if something happened that made them go in the other direction. Instead of fighting crimes, commit them... Instead of saving the world, scheme to take it over or worse, destroy it.

The goal of this challenge is to do just that. Pick your favorite comic book superhero and turn him into a villain. Remember to still make him instantly recognizable...

This time we want to see at least a bust, but preferably an entire character.

Have fun!

RULES AND GUIDELINES (MUST READ) :

Layout/Size: Keep all submissions to 1000-1200 pixels in height or width. Dont go too crazy on the number of WIP images - 2 pics say enough, we don't need 10 images with different matcaps each

At least two WIP images are required before posting the final piece.

Post your WIP images in this thread. Do not open a separate thread.

Submissions: Post Final Images in Finals Thread (To be posted later.)

-One Entry Per Person (the character should be new and created for this exercise)

-Beauty render, not just zbrush screen capture please

-Beauty render has to be in CLAY style only, Texturing is not required and shall not be considered for judgment .

-Follow the topic description to the best of your ability.

- Pay attention to anatomy, shape, form, and lighting. USE REFERENCE. Critical thinking is key to great character design.

- DO NOT post your image in your portfolio before the the results of the challenge are published

I'm in. Time to start doing research. Right now I'm thinking of an aged man of steel that has lost touch with humanity. Great topic by the way.

This will be my second chalenge if I can complete it in time.
Spiderman IS my favorite comic book character so I'm going to have to go with that.
unoriginal I know, but has to be done.

Here is my first concept for the spiderman turned villain.
Not sure how human I will make it.
Mabe some legs from the back as the spider tries to get out.

mayanew : i know its quite an early stage to comment. But i would really recommend you to start with low subdivisions and try to give the forms there itself. It'll help you achieve the desired form quickly and without irregular lumps. Try to be sculpt out basic forms first.

im definately doing a EVIL THOR its going to be awesome Thor is my fave hero and doing a evil version is way to cool to pass up so i call dibs on EVIL THOR lol

I've been putting off learning 3d for awhile, think I'm going to start doing these challenges now to learn it...

I think I'll do my favourite superheroine Vixen for this challenge.

This is such a fantastic idea! I love superheroes and would love to take on this challenge. I am not insanely good at anatomy right now so I may stick with a bust and hopefully add enough detail to it to make it worth while!
