    Thank ya mjasnowski!

More stuff for today. I decided to participate in DeviantART's Draw This Again contest which decided to redraw the red dragon which I drew 7 years ago. It goes to show that hard work does pay off.

And here is a bonus sketch, this is what the original sketch looked like before I completely changed it in Photoshop, ha.

    Default Arcanine and Growlithe

Hey everyone! Ffff...it has been a while but it can't be helped when there is work to be done. Anyways, I grabbed a bit of free time lately and have begun work on my next Pokemon painting, which include Arcanine, Growlithe, Dodou, and maybe more.

    Here are lines:

Hey everyone! One more post for this week!

I had some free time yesterday and got a little carried away with a sketch I started. Typical. Anyways, I am concepting more of my Carowyrm and this time it is of the skull. I had a lot of fun with this, but it is hard not too when I paint creature skulls. :V

Hey everyone! I have two more sketch paintings to share with you all today! The other day I did two studies preparing myself for my Pokemon painting of Arcanine and Growlithe that I recently shared the lines for.

The first study isn't that great because it was like I forgot how to paint. I was lost in the detail and seemingly got overwhelmed. That is when I just gave up on this one and decided to start fresh.

I sat back for a minute and reminded myself how to start a painting, what steps should I take, what should I focus on during each phase, that I need to simply and actually study the next photo I am about to paint rather than copy, and then I just went at it.

The results show when I decide on a plan of a attack rather than go at it without sense in what I am doing. I know I have a tendency to want to skip vital steps in the painting process to speed things up, for example, I just wanted to jump right into my Arcanine painting without doing any studies, but it just hurts the painting and myself in the end.

That is a life lesson right there.

Anyways, thank you all for looking and I hope you all enjoy!

Thank you so much you two! Your compliments always mean a lot to me!

Anyways, this weeks update. I was playing with my species the Carowyrm some more, this time deciphering the differences between genders. The one on the left is the male, which is what you all have seen, and the one on the right is female. I had an idea that her details would be less extravagant, much like most animal species.

Also, things have slowed down a bit lately and I decided to take a quick break from my Arcanine painting, which is slowing making progress, to do a few more studies of felines to figure out a few formal things in the painting.

      When in doubt, study!

Wow, the contrast and light in that last study are breathtaking! It's so vivid, it looks like it'll jump out of the screen any minute now

            Hey everyone!

@ amemoryinblue - Wow thank you very very much! It's something I have been striving for in my work and it's good that I am pulling it off in a few of my pieces. Thanks again.

@ Leonzilla - Thank you very much Leonzilla. It's actually woman, but don't worry because I get that a lot.

@ mattgamer - Thank you very much matt!

Anyways, here are today's sketchbook additions for you all! First is from last week which I did for Halloween. I am a little late with posting it here but it is better late than never. It is some fanart of No Face (Kaonashi) from Spirited Away.

And here is a still life study I have been working on for the past few mornings. Still lifes are a pretty big weakness of mine, and this one isn't at all good, but I learned a lot and got a little inspiration for a future personal piece.

Ha, thank you both of you! I appreciate it!

                Anyways, this weeks update.

First is an idea I had for a while now where I stick some type of head, creature or human inside, a box to practice perspective. First guinea pig is my creature the Carowyrm.

I also have painting number 3 for my realistic Pokemon series.

This one was a real bitch to work with because I, for some strange nonsensical reason, decided to repaint it at least twice.

When I make up another animated .gif showing the process you all will see what I mean.

I was also on the verge of trashing it at least twice, but thankfully I didn't and it came out fairly decent. It could be better but I am just happy that I don't want obliterate it anymore like I wanted to a week ago. I think next time I do a painting like this I will certainly post the stages and work in progresses more so people can help me along the way. I did feel stuck a good chunk of the time.

                Anyways, here is the painting!
