Default Lindsey‘s sketchbook of DRAW MORE.

Hello!
Well my name is Lindsey Wakefield and I have stalked this forum for god knows how many years. I have been reluctant to post my art and still kind of am, in face of all the amazing talent that exists on these forums, but that change comes today. I really want to continue improving as an artist, and coming here to CGHub, where all artists want to learn, improve, provide and receive advice, is the best place to be.

As for myself, I am 23 years old, born in Arizona, currently living in Texas, and am finishing up my bachelor’s degree in studio art this upcoming May. I am primarily a self-taught artist and love to draw and paint creatures, critters, people, beasties and indescribables.

Alright, so now on to the art, I’ll just start out posting stuff that I have recently finished and go from there. All comment, hints, tips, critiques are appreciated!
Thanks!

Some creature scribbles for today. These were sketches for something I recently sculpted, named Garuda.

      And the final sculpt!

I have to say your sketchbook is impressive your bird have caught my eye the most and if you are looking for more tips and advice I suggest getting a book called monster hunter illustrations its a inspiring book for creature and character design and creative illustration and color and light by james gurney but overall your sketchbook is good

Hey Udon, first off thank you! I do already have and read Color and Light and Imaginative Realism by James Gurney. They are both great reads and have helped immensely in my practice. The other book you suggested looks like sweet eye candy, I would love to get it eventually.

A few more studies for today, one with arms, one with a bird, and one with a cloud. The cloud one was my first attempt to work on an environment, which is a huge weakness of mine at the moment. Well that and everything else, I defiantly need to paint more...

          Anyways, here we go!

@ Udonhead - Thank you, I appreciate it! It may look good now but in the future I'll look back and laugh at it.

@ Njumer - Thank you very much, it means a lot!
