CHARACTER: WIZARD'S FAMILIAR

For this challenge, you are to design a wizard's familiar using the requirements listed below. This challenge was created to showcase your thinking and research abilities and to execute a well-designed character of your own making. Have fun with this round!

Demographic: Middle Grade (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_grade)
Genre: Fantasy - think Secret of NIHM
Role: Supporting character
Name: Toh
Type: Creature / animal / supernatural. Artist's choice, but NOT human - humanoid perhaps (if it is a daemon)
Gender: Artist's choice
Personality:
Cunning, Snide & sarcastic, caustic, A bit of a trouble maker, quick of mind, desperately loyal to its master, powerful, but not stronger than its master.
Characteristics/Traits: Highly magical. Fast to the point of sudden. Both beautiful and frightening and deadly in its own right.
Clothing / Dress: Artist's choice, but simple, if any. Nothing too showy.
Tools / Artifacts / Equipment / Weapons: Artist's choice, but no weapons or powerful magical items (it doesn't need them).

Notes: Toh (pronounced like "toe") is a nasty piece of work, but absolutely loyal to it's master. Focus on it, not its master. A background isn't necessary, but you are welcome to include one. You can include it's master if you wish, but again, the focus of the submission must be on Toh.

Hey Everyone! Here is a start of my work.. I was just doodling away.
Honestly, I'm still learning and this community seems it will come
in handy! Any criticism welcome!

So I decided to Revise Toh a bit and add some detail doing a concept
design of her character sheet. The first piece was brainstorming what
her story is as a wizard's familiar. Here is my story and update on Toh!

Toh is a Laiea, derives from the Leporidae race of mammals. She was
born on the planet Xrathlaiea dwelling amongst the rest of her race.
The Leporidae's are ever herbivores. Their height is compared above
equal to the Amazonian Gods. Grown into their adult age, their height
ranges from shortest 6.0 ft - 8.7 Tallest.

Toh is in her mid grade at the age of 241 years young. The lifespan of
the Laieans extend to around 700 years. All schooling on Xrathlaiea is
taught from the day they are born. (more detail information about
schooling on another segment). She is very wise when it comes to
making decisions and they are precise to her predictions.

On planet Chrysethia, Toh transferred as a mid grade student learning
how to strengthen her inner soul as a Guardian of Time. She has been
presented a master, "Xander Romero" born on the planet Earth to
motivate it's intellectual race of Humans. Her master is only an infant,
destined to live till a certain day that will inspire and motivate another
human destined as a hero to save the universe. She is ordered to oblige
the living of the infant until his life expires, then she will be relinquished
and graduated from mid grade.

I've been thinking about expanding on the story of a previous contest entry (from *ahem* a different forum), and one of the characters happens to be a sort of familiar anyway- this contest was the kick in the pants I needed to actually get working on it.



In this version, Toh is a marble bulldog, who serves as a sort of bodyguard/assistant/enforcer for a young trainee witch. He acts like a living ball-and-chain, shackled by a length of chain from his tail to her ankle, so he can make sure she doesn't stray from her duties.

Going the imp route. Meet Toh the imp, whose level of power is rivaled only by his amount of attitude. (Edit: started to paint it before dinner.)
