Kovah: Thanks for the tips, the new outline looks much better! Hehe anatomy (human or animal) is one of my weak points...^^; Hopefully I'll have some time to make those adjustments this afternoon

Thank you so much for the anatomy pointers, kovah.
Much appreciated. I did a quick skeleton sketch to get a better idea of how things should fit together as well... adjusted the head, horns, ribs, arm, etc. A combination of giraffe anatomy (for the support needed for a long neck) and some lizard limbs. I didn't do the entire spine.... but the concept is there. |

I'm not digging the soft style. It's losing too much definition. |

Dreos: What I would be aiming for if I were you would be a fairly detailed head region and slowly getting a little softer as you get to area's of less importance.
Look at this dragon, the tail is barely more than a brush stroke but the head is so detailed your eyes don't really care - http://cghub.com/images/view/120811/ I would also drop the solid black background for the time being and change it to a middle grey so you can sort out your tonal values that way nothing looks over exposed or too dark ![]() |

After I posted the fast sketch of my concept for this drawing Jam, today I finished detailed drawing of the same concept, paying special attention to pose, geometric elements of the dragons body and all the details that will be incorporated in the final. Hope you like it
Before the final coloring I intend to do also value and color templates. All comments and suggestions are more then welcome. |

cool color choices and composition. And i like the dragon design. But i think that rabbit is too large, since its so far off in the distance. Right now it looks large enough to be sitting right next to the man in the foreground. Yet you have him at distance which makes him look large enough to flood your river just by stepping in it. The dragons leg looks strange to me too. Maybe showing his whole leg resting on the edge of that cliff would help? it would require some fancy foreshortening but i think that would help it a lot.
