Munkai: Nice sketch! I really like your cartoon style.
Sandu22: great Snow Ape family! I like it.
Dogzandglue: Nice character and digital painting (looks a little like Batman maybe by the horns)
T-Cube: Cool Abominable Snowman! Great start.

    Hi everyone

Munkai : I like the mixing of a walrus and a gibbon

A78 : Good model sheet to be given to a CG sculptor !

Ogi-g : I tried to look at my work with 3d glasses and it was still messy

Santana : This kind of "Trex" head is much better ! and I agree with Cristan, bending the arms of your snowman gives him more power...

Sandu : Is it your model sheet on the top ? If yes it would be interesting to show it standing on its feet, no ? I like the head anyway !

    Dogzandglue : Your bat-evil-snowman is terrific !

Tcube : Good concept ! I'm looking forward to see what you are going to do with it.

    Cristian : Thank you

    here's my wip model.

Hi guys, great to see new cool stuff !

T-Cube thats a creepy one! I really like it , lets see how you develop the character

Santana I like the mouth of your first upload because looks more aggressive and like is really about to eat it , Im not talking about the design of the monster just about the intention that character have in that concept , but keep working and lets see how the image progress , is looking very nice you just need to define the design of the character, Ive been working the model sheet and the final image at the same time because makes easier my choices having more angles and going back and forward in the different images.I hope that makes sense.

MOR great anatomy ! the shapes are so nice and easy to read , cant wait to see the final image

Here my updates and final ones

Here's my second pass. Feel good about the design, not too sure about the eyes. Any suggestions? Model sheet to come.

Mor - I like the look with the tusks, very cool. The model sheet looks nice. Good work.

Cristian - I like the looseness of your brush work, very interesting. I love the horns and the face.

Scorge -Love the grayscale and work you did with the fur. The snowball is a nice touch too.

A78 - The final model sheet looks really cool. I love the the look of images posted on a board. Good storytelling.

T-Cube - I personally like the expressivity on the original sketch that I think got lost in the the transition to the color version , the shapes on the head and anatomy were more interesting in the original but as I said this is just my personal taste.

I hope you don't mind , I have created this thumbnail with the sketch you did and with the new version to emphasize my previous comment , I would recover some of the old shapes details on the sad eyes , the mouth , feet , neck and rib cage, just tiny touches that gave the sketch a particular personality.

This is not just you by the way , we all have the same problem in the process of taking an sketch to a color render is very common to end up loosing some of the original essence. All that said only in case we want to preserve that essence of course , a different thing if things are changed because is our will

Hey fellas and ladies, (if there are any), almost forgot we were having a competition here the holidays have been nuts! Anywhos, need a little help with picking a composition. Dramatic upshot with crazy lighting or aggressive action shot with lots of snowball throwing torque? So tough to choose. Guess the deadlines the day after tomorrow so the sooner the better would be most excellent. Thanks in advance.

@Santana: Fur's looking good. Only gripe would be that if it's that long, the flow of the hair would be more away from the direction of travel. The composition is great and the look on the dude's face says a lot about his truly animalistic nature.

@T-Cube: Nice proportions, focus in on that face. There should be a very strong but fluid transition from face; skin(unless his face is covered with fur), eyes, mouth to furry neck. The sketch is working for now but it appears to be more of a placeholder than an exploration. For the eyes, try checking out some monkeys, apes, even bats are always a good ref for unique facial structures.

Scorge both are very good ,but I think I like more the second one ...is like a 'big budget classic' , the first one instead is more like 'horror tight budget'. I hope that makes sense

Santana I hope you can finish on time , maybe is best to jump to the model sheets and leave the coloring of the final image for the end.Good luck

Scorge - I like the one with the chopper, but what if there were a couple skiers, or a St. Bernard sticking out of that snowball? -- or the Abominable Snowman at the winter Olympics?

Hi, very nice WIP here !

A78 : Just one word : Brilliant ! I wanted to make the same presentation as yours, but you were faster !

T cube : I like your color key. I would have play with more nuances in the contrast to feel the muscles underneath the hairs...

Santana : wonderfull modeling work and good storytelling ! look forward to see your model sheet !

Scorge : Il like very much the one with the helicopter.

Sandu22 : Goog texturing work. I just think the head is to much white. But, may be it's still a WIP ?

I 've finaly finished my model sheet in between my workin'day...
