A voted ! Yeah work anatomy, ideas, composition proportions etc, colors you have it in the studies and you have a good pencil strike, but well really proportions need to be worked, big heads, tiny legs. Keep you on one idea of what you want to illustrate and try doing it in the right way instead of messing around with photoshop strange stuff hehe. But you have the advantage to be young not an old fart like me there are good things that you seem to understand in your studies which are the totally oposite quality side of some of strange stuff you have made, not speaking of pencil sketchs, but that pink thing with a great mouth is gona make me have really deep nightmare. You know I don't mean being harsh but this one is really kind of bad taste, on the oposite better taste in your pencils sketchs, so work out in the good way, and you should improve. I will insist again on proportions, for example the eyes are often also too close from each other...Good luck

It looks like you're making all the same mistakes I did when I first started digital art.

I didn't have solid foundations let alone know what that even meant. So I would try to do fancy stuff in Photoshop to try to cover up my lack of knowledge.

You'll hear it repeated over and over but it's only because it's important.

        Foundations, Foundation, Foundations.

It's like building a house. The tools are the techniques and the materials is the knowledge behind the use of those tools. So if you were to build a house You need a solid framework before you think about hanging the curtains.

I highly recommend Andrew Loomis. You can find his ebooks online for download if you google search. I would recomend starting with Fun with a Pencil to understand the basic principles then move onto Successful Drawing. He has others but those would be a good starting point.

Also it wouldn't hurt to do more studies, even studies of other artist's pencil drawings to understand line quality and rendering. I would recomend Mucha, Wes Burt and Sargent. Sargent is mainly known for his paintings but his drawings are really good too. The Reilly method is another good one for drawing technique.

Sorry there's heaps more I want ot saw but don't want to overwhelm you with information, since it's stages at a time, not all at once, for progress.

Yeah and there are also some books where you can learn the basis of the human body proportions, I just can advice you to practice on some while reading them, things will appear then clearer

Wow thanks you guys soo much.
Kherns - You are absolutely right about the proportions man.Haha yeah,i try to do as much life studies as i can but the wall in the classroom doesn't help me with that a lot But,yeah that bagi pink is from like a year ago for an art exhibit hear in bulgaria that there was nothing else to do.The theme we had to paint on was "water"Guess that was the easiest thing i could do that it would look well ( except for the colors, they are absolute shit). Thanks for stopping by

Cmaske - So are you, man! - absolutely right.I did try to cover up my lack of knowledge by experimenting cuz it was easy, but no more!I actually started Loomis like a week ago with head drawing, but i guess i'll listen to your advice and start fun with pencils , since i'm still at the beginning.I would reaaaally like to hear/see/chat about those heaps you wanted to saw Thanks, man!

So yeah, enough chit chatting here's some "art"
first some sketches from this week

and some incredibly bad digital hand studies off of sketches and an eye challenge i have with a friend of mine

Don't be afraid to copy other artist pencil drawings in order to understand some nice technique. Or if not copy at least have it up as reference and try to apply the method to your own drawings.

Kherns made a good point about studying proportions. Memorise the general landmarks and where they should line up. Loomis has this in his books and also Gottfried Bammes - We draw people book is good too.

Try even do some underlying stickfigures / mannequins to guide the proprtions that you can then build on with more and more complexity. Even try just makeing the figure out of cylinders, spheres and boxes, then you can add the detail of the muscle forms.

Also if you can find it in the shop try to get a hold of the imagineFX anatomy magazine. I got from the newsagency. It has good diagrams, and examples.

You might also benefit from Glen Vilppu's books I find his approach very easy to understand. He basically build's the figure with gesture and cylinders and uses ellipses to show the angles.

                    OK
First of all , Happy New Year everyone!!!!
My new year resolution - draw at least 300 aketchbook pages , at least 175 digital paintings, get good grades , read at least 10 books , write at least 3 songs.

ok so here are some sketchbook pages , i's got more but they're too boring.

the last one is of sketches i did for a friend's wall , he was getting it painted and wanted me to make him some totem poles and he really likes drum 'n bass , so that explains the designs (he wanted only the bottom part , since the top one was already made)

I managed to finish the contest with expelliarmus before new year's midnight with seconds to spare - that explains why the last two look like shit

random "middle of the night with nothing to do" guy

and a wip i'm going to need some of you people's advice on(critics ofcourse needed and encouraged)... holes or no holes , the ones done on the left are made in like 30-40 secs just to show pretty much what it would look like.

Here's a close up of the no hole head

                    Happy 2012 everybody!!!
