    Default 1HR MMA Photo Studies

looking for ways to better my speed, understanding of posing, anatomy, lighting and over all technique in my paintings. I did these in 6 different 1 hr sessions, my end goal (if possible) would be to do them just as detailed in 15 minutes, or be confident enough to not use as many brush strokes and brave enough to start them in color. I definitely learned a lot doing these and am always looking for advice to make me faster and more efficient.

thank you for viewing! : )

          Default 30 min portman study

i decided to use a new technique for this one learned from Ryan Portillo, very different but i think effective despite my accuracy

Default 30 min eva mendes study

i threw away my old methods on this one, and went outside of my comfort zone and instead drew the shapes i saw and tried to not think of it as a face

                        Default 2hr color study

unhappy with my failure of the first richard drawing, i decided to really study what made it fail and even be brave enough to use color. Any crits that can help me vastly improve my speed and accuracy are greatly welcomed!

Try spending more time on the drawing, trying to get it really accurate before adding value / colour. Since if your drawing is right everything should fall into place.

I did this at work today for a display, testing my observation skills, tough copying a cellphone pic to a big drawing, i learned a lot though, hope to do these faster and more accurate with tons of practice.
