Heya!

My last semester of the first year at the atelier ended last week and now its time for the summer break!

Ok, let me explain..err, what happened was...well...summer happened really... So that basically resulted in me not doing as much drawing as I would have wanted (:

Buut I did keep up a few projects and some regular sketching on the side so it wasn't a total loss.. Honestly, I've done more than any other summer to date, so I should be happy, its all downhill from here on I say!

Also school started today, so its back to reality!

Thought I'd post some stuff from these past few weeks at school and so on.

We had a awesome workshop with Max Patte (Lead sculptor at Weta Workshop) where we had to sculpt the head/portrait of a model whom we had placed in the middle of the room. Loads of fun but a lot harder than you'd think really since you're basically working in 3D.

Also a fast two week "test" cast and a bunch of sketches etc.

This is all pretty much amazing. I like seeing how you construct your forms and the end result is lovely and solid. You have a really good grasp of the human form. I'm actually pretty humbled looking at this. Well done and keep posting!

A chalk and charcoal figure I have been working on the last five weeks.

Not entirely happy with it, but it's the most complete figure I have drawn to date and I have learned tons by doing it!

This update is way overdue, since i've been really busy working on my latest chalk and charcoal cast.

Easily spent 300+ hours on it and just thinking about it makes me tired haha

Now that it's done tho I will be moving on to my oil studies (fun!) and hopefully be sketching a lot more and getting back in shape!
