The Concept Design Workshop Melbourne 2012 will be held on January 17-22, 2012 at the Westside Warehouse, Melbourne. Victoria. This exclusive event is a week long intensive workshop featuring some of the industry's most prominent concept artists.

Industry professionals and students alike will have the opportunity to learn what its takes to become a successful concept designer and will hone and develop industry specific techniques that are used in a day to day professional environment. The Concept Design Workshop has released its first instructional training digital download. The first digital download is now available from the store. This is the first in a series of digital download's that will be released during 2011/12.

In this digital download:

Carlo Arellano is a leading international concept designer, has worked on Hollywood movies such as Spiderman, Planet Of The Apes and Van Helsing. Carlo has also played a key role in concept development of ground breaking video games such as God of War: Chains of Olympus, Resistance: Fall Of Man, World of Warcraft and is now currently lead concept designer at Insomniac games in Los Angeles.

In this lecture Carlo will show how to design a creature from a blank canvas to a fully rendered concept. You will have a unique opportunity to see Carlo work in a live demo environment and watch as many questions get asked about Carlo�s process and workflow. Topics in the digital download that are covered include, drawing and linework, Photoshop rendering techniques, design principles and theory. In this lecture you will see Carlo work on 2 paintings from blank canvas to completion and also discuss many principles that concept artist�s need to learn and master to take their work to next level.

Hi Rem.
The download goes for almost 2hrs 30 and is jam packed with awesome information that is really hard to come across and also two really fantastic creature demo's that you get to see from start to completion. You get to actually view people asking Carlo questions while he is working which is really unique for a digital download and it gives a really great insight into Carlo's work flow. We hope you will learn loads from it!!
