    My first charcoal pencil work!

    Really pleased with one or two of my heads - from imagination.



    and here's a comparison from september to today. Really pleased with this head in particualr:



    and then i tried to paint his head in photoshop. Not easy, still have a TON of study to do before I can paint a head from imagination...

          neck studies:



          Portrait studies. Never got this right in years of sketching. Time to settle that. I had never got subtle shading down, so I decided to do some longer shading studies:
