stace, could you re-post your thumbs? somehow they disapeared (very weird)

witmann-art, Basically what i did was makind some edges harder in the head and more specular light in the focus, also to add even more focus i pushed the darker values too, I added some glowing touches to give abit more the "soul" feeling and also i re-enforced the blade textures, i did the Scythe only, sorry i had no more time for the rest Here's the paintover!

And Here's a gif showing before and after!

Hope this helps!

cheo3, Great Start! my favourites are number 2 and 3, from the thumb there seems to be no space for the character to hold the schyte, either don't forget to make space for the hands or make the neck longer, don't worry there's enough time still

Keep them coming guys, stop lurking hehe

That's super weird... why would they just disappear like that? I can still see them. Waah, ultra confusing.

My thumbs, unfortunately no new updates as of yet.

And yay, Cheo! I'm liking 6 the most. It's super cool that you're going all tech on it.

@Stace- I think the one in the middle(the tiny one) is the best and most scythe like weapon of the bunch. Ncie notes though(the lol made me giggle)

Here is the base sketch for min so far.

@Blindrat - I like the pattern on the blade particularly. The handle stands out as a little odd to me. Your scythe looks very "tribal" but the handle reads as sort of a mass produced "philip's" head screw. Maybe try a bird claw or ball and socket type shape to tie back into the bird\skull motifs.

@Stace - The largest scythe on the right has a small shape that I think is reminiscent of an hour glass, underneath the large gem which I'm not sure was your intent but might be interesting to explore. The small one on the bottom left as well, with the four blades is also striking in its resemblance to a bony arm and might be a good one to work up.

Hope that is helpful. Nice work all around.

@Blindrat: Very cool concept, I agree with trailofcrums about the handle though. Looking forward to see the finished thing.

@trailofcrumbs: Also great concepts, I can't pick only one as a favorite! I especially like the one with the bell but the one right of it has also an interessting technical theme, it's really hard to decide!

Last but not least, @cheo36: I really like all the little details you've added, especially the exhaust. I think it's really cool. I'm not quite sure what type of "magic glow" it is around the blade , it kind of looks like fire (which I would find very interessting and fitting to the technical theme). Am I right that you're going for a steam-punk'ish look?

aaaand of course, here's my progress with a LOT of help from JohnSilva

@stace - cool sketches and exploration... cant wait for ur next step
@cold - oh boy!!! here comes the master....
@trailo - great start... i like the variety of designs....good stuff
@witman - hey man good update... looks sharper now yes im going for that punkish mechanical look.... that green area it is like fire as in it acts like it.... is like this energy that actually sucks in the souls of whatever the blade cuts, and stores it inside. Not really usr eif i picked the best color but ill try to explore a little more on it
@parpica - hey good start.... i look at your weapon and i go...ouch!!!!!

...Now i was wondering if it was ok to add some type of character maybe just holding the weapon for scale reference and placement? or is just the asset??? thanks!

Hi guys, first time in one of these. SHould be a good start to add some real concept art to my portfolio, besides my illustrations.

              Lets try that shilouette method.
Heres what came out so far.

The right one is more of a puppet wit a blade in his arm, maybe it can talk as well? ^^

@trailofcrumbs: Interesting designs, I like the little bell and the curved one, even though that one doesnt really look like a scythe anymore.
@witmann-art: great progress, it has some warhammer feel to it.
@parpica: Cool idea with that chainsaw techy look and the coke. ^^ Would like to see this worked out.
