malo and cheo36 I will consider to take that guy further if I find some time, LOL Thanks for your comments.
Shuty I use gimp for most of my digital work, almost for everything I do. I recently changed to gimp-painter but that's the same plus 2 new tools: mixbrush and g-pen. Mixbrush is a great tool and the last picture I uploaded was made only with that, just trying to get used to the way it mixes colors. And a new portrait study. Long time since I did one. This time I painted Kaley Cuoco: Penny from the Big Bang Theory. It's not perfect, but I did it in arround 70 minutes, which is very fast for me. I also recorded a video as I was painting. Video |

That's cool,my problem with gimp is that the brushes really lags, especially on higher res, but I'm working on really old pc so that might be the cause.
Anyway, great portrait! Nice brush strokes and thx for the video

(Edited: I added a second image of the progress so far)
Unfinished morning study. I'm having some trouble with a gold skinned dude and so I decided to make some gold studies. Here I've been 1 hour into this one and I'm not very happy with how this is going. I will get back to it tomorrow. Last edited by toramarusama; 11-01-2011 at 09:08 AM. |

JoseVega, I don't think I will ever come back to this one. I spent around 1 hour with it and I think that taking it any farther would miss the point of the study. I have also very little time to spend with these ones.
More portrait studies: The last one was really frustrating. I wasted a lot of time trying to get the likeness and I'm not happy with the result. And a color portrait study, trying to get the skin tones right. |

Nice studies but watch your proportions and edges.
