Sorry I'm late on this.

@ Kfu - The planet is made of gas - and the creatures roam around inside of it - sort of like a giant water bubble that creatures swim in.

As far as roaming the surface is concerned, this could mean that the creatures stay within a few levels of the atmosphere essentially creating a habitable layer.

got my scanner back...trying to picture what might soar through the skies of Dri.

Thinking along the lines of feathers or dandilions.

(that's what those three things at the bottom are for...trying to decide if I should go with (a) the frequent quills, (b) the feathery barbs, or (c) crosshatching)
