*Challenge Starts Friday, August 12th.*

This months challenge is Symbiotic parasites. I want to continue with a theme of multiple organics complimenting or using each other.

For this challenge you can have any type of human, animal, alien, monster ...whatever. Just as long as the "base" figure is distinguishable from the symbiotic creature which must have a very distinct design to it as well.

I want to see definative areas where the 2 are melding and mutating together and when you guys pose your piece it must evoke powerful emotion. ie, fear, anger, anguish, elation, ecstasy, etc

Examples.
~Human and Zerg symbiote - As his flesh is being being bonded with an acidic like substance show the expression of pain and horror of his skin burning and violently mutating.

~Dog and "the Thing" (kurt russel movie) show the pain and agony of the animal as its being torn open from the inside by the things tentacles.

~Alien humanoid is bonding with an angelic like being, show the joy and ecstasy in the pose and expression.

~Hellraiser, pinhead has opened the puzzle box of the lament configuration. You can sculpt him being torn apart by barbed chains and transformed into a cenobite.

~A bear is grossly disfigured by a large cancerous mass on its face and torso, model the pain and sadness in the way it stands or walks.

etc.

Emotion and Transformation are the 2 key points to this challenge.

Some of these may "APPEAR" like characters but look at these as more like monstrous transformations of what once was and is no longer the original.

~REQUIREMENTS~
Front , side and 3/4 shot in grey scale (posed or T pose)
1 posed beauty shot "evoking emotion"

Trying to come up with something for this one, need to work
on my Z skills and the 3dCP would be a good way to do it me
thinks.

Not sure if I will have time to enter this one, but here is a little critter I made a while ago in Sculptris.

If someone wants to use it in their composition let me know, I'll send you the scene file.

I've been wanting to do a challenge for a while now. But I always seem to find out about them in the middle or after it's over. I read about this one yesterday ( I know a week late) but i figured ti's still enough time. Here's what i got done as of last night.

well I know I said I wasn't entering, but I have had some free the last few days. Might not be able to finish this on due date, but here is my idea.

Here is my concept in mudbox, might not go with the cloak / robe and just work from the original.

johnchen- looks good for a start. Make sure you define the indivual parts from the whole. I want to see some very definable human parts (if that is what he is) and then you can continue with the tentacles and such.
the joining or bonding area should be very apparent.

If you can't finish it by the deadline , I'd still like to see it once you finish... feel free to post it in the forum afterwards.
