My morning warm-up from today.

3 are photo studies and 3 are from imagination. they range from 5-20 minutes. I am trying to get a better sense of color and mood. I will try to do 6 of these every morning.

Two assignments for my Industrial Design class. The first is a paintover of my first 3d model. I used zbrush, which was a bitch to figure out, but luckily Miles Wadsworth helped me out a ton. Thanks buddy! The lava gloves are the actual assignment and I threw in a couple of variations because I thought they looked cool.

The 2nd is a 60 minute concept that I had to bust out after listening to a song.

Some figure drawings from early today. The top left is 1 hour and the others are 5 minutes. This was done with a brush and ink. It was a ton of fun and I think that I will be doing this more often in the figure.

One thing that I want to work towards in these ink studies is that weird guttural mark making, but I also want to incorporate the way that comic inkers describe form. I will have to do some studies.

The second image is an illustration I did for Honors Studio at TAD. I also did it with ink and a brush, which is kind of why I tackled figure with the same materials today.

A couple of designs from tonight. I am the most happy with the hover vehicle in the top right. This is my first time ever trying to design a vehicle and it took me a long time to come up with these sketches. I wanted to get more mechanical/hard lines, but everything came out fairly organic.

Just another thing to add to the list of things I need to practice.

A painting I just finished. About 5.5 hours. From a photo I shot over the weekend. I really loved some of the things that happened during this painting. My mindset was in the right place, the colors on my palette were working. This is probably the most comfortable piece of art I've ever made (not including graphite or charcoal). I am usually uncomfortable with my media because I don't really have that much time logged into any of them. Turning point?? I hope so.

@Shuty: Thanks a ton. I haven't been able to go to my figure drawing sessions recently, but I plan on getting back in the swing of things next week.

So yeah... I swear I am trying, but this guy just isn't very good. After today's crit, I have to go back and redesign how this guy attacks and animates but I thought I should upload it. So that I can see it in a few months when I go back through these images.
