    Default Artwork style

I am looking for info on how this style of painting was done. I am not looking to paint this picture exactly but I love the style. If anyone can direct me to a good description of the brushes and settings for this type of painting I would be a very happy man.

Here's a tip for you, wanna make something like that? First, make that. Copy those artworks you like value by value, stroke by stroke. Believe me, you'll be able to tell us how to do it.

Jon McCoy is amazingly talented and I also love that style of painting but it's difficult to direct someone how to paint in a certain style. It's something that will come to you with experimentation and practice.

I'd say the best place to start is to download some brushes that other artist have made avaliable such as Daarken. In his tutorial area on his page there is a zip file to download with a sh*t load of brilliant brushes inside, he has more that enough to start experimenting with. Also pick up some art magazines such as ImagineFX, they always have plenty of brushes on their cd's and also plenty of video tutorials were you can watch some of the best artists as they create their work to give you an idea of the process. Also textured photos are essential in creating this style, you can find plenty on Abduzeedo. After you've found a few that suit what you're creating, place them on your canvas and play around with the layer settings to get it looking right.

Sorry I can't help more but I'd say trail and error is the best way to go when trying to find a certain style to work in. Good luck!
