Here's another update. Still have a ways to go. Changed the composition.

Can't promise I'll finish for the deadline (unless the lovely Icon sees fit to grant us more time!) but here's an initial sketch, trying to use what i've learned from a recent Sargent copy about edges. Based on the song Behold! The Night Mare by Samshing Pumpkins:

I've faced the fathoms in your deep
Withstood the suitors quiet siege
Pulled down the heavens just to please you
Appease you

I can't go on, digging roses from your grave
To linger on, beyond the beyond

Quick update on how mines coming along. Would stop to offer thoughts on fellow participants, but paintin' like heck at the moment to get it to a finished state for the deadline tomorrow!

Another quick update. Spent most of today fighting with the composition, so that i didn't have a black hole in the centre of the painting, but think with some more work on cloth folds and smoke effects, I should be able to balance it with the horses and the figure. That's the plan, anyhoo. :/

Tobzart: looking cool, like the dynamism and energy of the brush strokes, tho I'm a little confused as to what's actually happening on the left of the image - is it a creature of sorts?

How kind! I hope that I can finish up in time, though my own is not nearly so stunning. It's all for the fun anyway, and I've had plenty of that.

I wish I had done so many things differently with my own image, but hey. That just means next time I'll try and think of things differently :3

Going to try and wrap this up and post an update soon. Everyone is fantastic so far!
