    Default Neeko's Sketchbook

My hope is that this digital sketchbook will allow me to see where I'm heading with my technique and where I've been. Critiques and comments are always welcomed.

To begin, I'm trying to tackle hands and feet. So,... the majority of these drawings will be of this subject for quite a while.

More hands. Relearning old poses and getting the hand of new. Hope to have an arsenal of poses that come naturally.

Almost done with the week hand study. I kind of like the repetition of it. When I get to a point where I'm like "ugh, again?" I think to myself "How can I make it different. How can I make this one sketch again my own?"

          Thanks for the encouragement MrBrown.

With this hand pose I've reached the point where the repetition has become a chore. It wouldn't be so bad if I understood why didn't get the drawing close to the pose, and thus why I didn't understand the "hand". So this page is pretty much full of the same attempt at the same pose. Fun.

Tried a different technique for hands and it seems to be working. I have a better understanding of the palm and fingers ant the fatty thumb.

Started sketching larger versions. Taking it slower, quality over quantity. Still working on the quality portion.

Worked on contour lines, simple versions to see if I can draw hands without sketching guides first. It’s still very weak, but practice practice practice.

More work with contour hands. Trying to get that spacing down.

A bit more complex set of contour lines for hands. Trying to not get lazy, but not to focused either. Working on those confident lines.

                      Default .

Started working on feet. Took me some time to figure out the bone and box structure. Work in progress.

More feet. I find feet surprisingly more fun to do. May have to do with that toes are shorter than fingers. But my feet still look deformed.

I find the bottom of the feet much more fun than the top , side or straight on view. I really dislike the straight on view.
