Default 3D Jam #9:: guti's Iron Fist :: guti

Hi to all,
This is my first post here at CGHub... even if I have already posted some of my work on my CGHub portfolio.
If I could find the time I hope to start and finish my (slightly) personal version of Iron Fist.
I will update this post with the progress of my WIP... but for now only the will to partecipate!

-----------------------------------------------------

edit 1: quick sketches

Done in train returning from my work... ok it is not a great sketch but it is a little more than just the will to partecipate

-----------------------------------------------------

edit 2: starting sculpting

Between a diaper change and a lullaby to calmdown my baby I've started sculpting using the simple basemesh to the left

-----------------------------------------------------

edit 3: continuing to sculpting

I've started to model the hands: the pose seem strange but is something in beetwen the pose that I've imagined for the two hands in the final pose.

Also started a doodle from a sphere in order to have a more detailed head... if I've the time I will retopologize in order to merge the head with the body.

I feel as I started on the right foot... I hope to continue like this

Default 3D Jam #9:: guti's Iron Fist :: guti

I continued to sculpt the torso and the arms and I've placed the new head on top.
There are some place that disappoint me a little (the chin and the rib cage among the others)... I will try to fix it on the incoming sessions.

I'll second that Guti, really nice sculpt, poly painting. The hands are insane with expression! Are you adding the curly hair? that would balance that head out so nicely. Excellent concept sketches as well.

Guti, One question. How did you find out about Iron Fist? He's such an obscure character virtually every story behind how people were exposed the character and what they think about Danny Rand is pretty interesting. Very similar thing with the character Black Panther I've found as well.

Emh... to be honest I found Iron Fist googling after reading the theme of the Jam session.
During this week I should be able to see some numbers of "The Immortal Iron Fist" and I hope to dig more the character.
For now I'm enthusiast of some illustration that I've found on the net and I love the feeling of rage and revenge that emerges from these.

I Don't know yet if I add the hair, but somehow I have to adjust the back of the head

@LOad: Thanks LOad! You are to kind
Good Luck for the Character Forge session: you have done an awesome work!

nice sculpting there One thing that's bothering me is how narrow the head is, Even with the ears covered up you'd see their shape underneath the cap and the would stick out at least a bit + the cheek bones are not the widest part of the head but the middle/back of the skull is [Parietal bone part] - I think you need to have another look that one. Keep going

Hey Guti, just wanted to let you know I wasn't leaving you hanging on this 3D topic. I've been pretty tied up and I have to make a trip to Los Angeles tomorrow. I'll be back on the 23rd. My hope is that I'll have some time to work more on my Iron Fist today so I can upload something to add a little something more to this. Be Safe.

Hi Horus! Don't worry for me and have a nice trip
This week I'had very little time for the sculpt... here in Genoa is hot as hell on these days and my little girl is a little more capricious than usual...
luckily tonight was cooler and I did some progress on my sculpt.

For now pants and feet are only sketched

The most of the work was done on the head... major change on the proportion and retopologized (now I'm able to open the mouth in order to obtain a rage expression)

I have attached a little experiment for the pose

The next step are defining the pants and the foot and add some details

I've continued posing the model... I will sculpt the pants directly on the right pose.
The muscles still have to be adapted to the installation, I hope to do it in the best way.
The hand on the back will be the one on fire... but If I can find enough time, I'd like to do instead the aura of the dragon.
If you are not too convinced let me know what you think of the pose...

any advice is really apreciated!

And there are also some detail of the hand (for now is the most detailed part)

I adjusted the muscles of the torso and arms in accordance with the pose.
The clay feeling helps me with a sense of the anatomy, but I will fix.
There are also some details of the fist
