Hello all my name is Barry better know as Token. I'm new here and new to digital art. I hope to learn, help, and make my mark in the community! So lets start with some art! Here are somethingds im working on at the moment.
Got a chance to sit down and add somethings to the first piece. Still figuring out where I want the lighting. All of it wasn't planned at all it was just some random thoughts thrown at what was a portrait study lol.
Since my tablet broke    I can only do pencil sketches. So here is a huge update of my studies and doodles. My apologies if the pics are blurry but I do not have a scanner......so suck it :P
I finally have a tablet!! Here are some things i been messing around with.
Just an idea I decided to mess around with.
30 min Iron Man
Skin practice
All these are very rough but I been searching for a rendering process that I like. I been having trouble blending and getting my idea across so been doing a lot of sketching.
If you want some fast pointers of tips I wish I'd gotten when I got more serious then I'd say don't get too obsessed with details or muscles. A drawing teacher at the game assembly once told me that a stick figure with a believable weight is so much more worth than a detailed illustration without any solid ground. But still, anatomy is wicked fun so i'd suggest getting to know proportions and weight first and then slowly working toward realistic abs.
and drawing a real nude model is the kings road.
and don't forget to draw those monsters in between!
hope it helped, keep uploading!
Oh and by the way, don't neglect using plain old lead. No wrong in using a tablet at an early stage but a pen responds way better to pressure and the paper is unmatched in it's resolution!
Thanks a lot Torben! The tips are greatly appreciated! Anatomy is great fun and I feel like I am getting better given the last pic I posted. What I feel is helping me out even more is the way I go about painting. I am focusing more on value and blocking in big shapes then just going by linework.
