Default CharacterFORGE 3D :: ROUND 009 :: MAKING FACES

Come up with a character of your choice and present it with at least one of the following expressions:

Happy

Furious

Depressed

Only 3? Yes - let's make this challenging. It's not easy to make a convincing smile or a truly angry expression. Try to push yourself as well as your character. Use references! Remember that a mirror and your own face are the best tools in this excercise.

HAVE FUN!

RULES AND GUIDELINES:

Layout/Size: Keep all submissions to 1000-1200 pixels in height or width. Dont go too crazy on the number of WIP images - 2 pics say enough, we don't need 10 images with different matcaps each

Post your WIP images in this thread. Do not open a separate thread.

Submissions: Post Final Images in Finals Thread (To be posted later.)

-One Entry Per Person (the character should be new and created for this exercise)

-Beauty render, not just zbrush screencapture please

-You're allowed to texture your bust but it's not compulsory.

-Follow the character description to the best of your ability.

- Pay attention to anatomy, shape, form, and lighting. USE REFERENCE. Critical thinking is key to great character design.

        I realize that representation to us in its ultimate form is best displayed in human anatomy...but whats not state in the rules is whether the anatomy MUST be human. So with that said, would i be justified in assuming that it doesn't matter if its completely human or not?

        not necessarily but it'll help to model the inside of the mouth and the teeth The teeth and tongue add a lot to character expressions ... That said, you don't have to make an animatable model so you might as well sculpt the expressions entirely if you feel up to the challenge

            mytarious - a good start though it's hard to judge with only a wireframe shot From what I see so far I'd say push it some more - he's bearly smiling, make him howl with laughter

            ALT - lol the bear's killing ya hehe I hope you'll join in
