    Default Redemption

    Hey everyone
This is a piece I've been working on for some time now, and I just can't get some stuff right...

My main issue is with the anatomy of the face. I've tried over and over to fix it but it doesn't seem right. I know some other things are wrong (like the hands being too big or badly shaped in some areas), but at least I know I can fix those.
Another problem is with the shape of the lower part of the dress. I think it could have a more interesting shape, but again, nothing I do makes it look any better.

I'm also planning to add a second lightsource from below, since the painting itself feels kind of dull as it is.

Any comments or help are greatly appreciated Thanks for your time!

EDIT: For some reason my image wasn't showing :/ Sorry for the inconvenience.

The face needs to be pulled back a little, it's too far from the neck.
The dress looks good for what it is. If you want to use different dress you can experiment, make different thumbnails/sketches
I think the grey background makes it dull. How about a sky? Or Just add a heavenly sun light? Just suggestion.

Thanks a lot, man that really helps!
Yeah, I've been meaning to change the background for a while. No good ideas though but now that you mention it a sky would be nice, or maybe some clouds anyways, thanks for the response bro, I really appreciate it.

here are some tips from me, I drew over some parts to demonstrate the gravity (fabric and hair)+ I think you should play more with values, meaning darker shadows, due to the hard light source.

I also found a cool reference picture for the bird, especially the lower body needs some work I think.

There you go, I hope I could help

            Thanks for that, Witmann
I found the same picture! I've been using it and some others pics.
The legs were a real pain to do. I know they're not perfect but the deadline for this is near and I still have to finish some other stuff so I'll leave it like it is :/ same with the head, which I think is kinda big.
Anyways, here's my final picture (although I'm pretty sure I'll fix the gravity on the "rings" before really calling it done)

            Thanks for your time!
