Def going to get in on this topic! I know there are some pretty badass weapon illustrations done for WoWTCG that would help with inspiration.

New member here. Thought I'd get my feet wet by doing this challenge.
Here's my first WIP. I played with the sword's shape in at art app on my Ipad, then started adding some atmosphere.

I apologize in advanced if I've posted this the wrong way.

              Hi all.
              Count me in.
And here is a quick start of what I have in mind.
The dragon will be a sculpt, but I couldn't decide whether the whole thing would be carved in to a solid granite/obsidian wall, or it would just float in midair.
              crits and comments are welcomed

                Default starting to shape something

I´m gonna try to combine a dramatic vast backround, with the sword nailed in the grass.

Something lie the last scene of braveheart.

Looks great everyone, looking forward to seeing these developed more.

I have one question. I was planning on doing this but looking at the reference one of them looks to be a lance(I'm not familiar with where that image comes from) Is it limited just to swords? Just making sure

                Hi everyone. Nice work here!
                That's my sword.
I'm going to put it on an environment (like excalibur), and when the hero takes the sword, it will start to shine like here.

                Hope you like it
                C&C are welcome.

                    Hi everyone.
                    no updates today from me
Gr8 designs so far keep em coming

here is a few thing I have noticed:

@ScalC: Nice idea. but I think the grip/handle (don't know how its called ) is a bit too thick. And the blade, i think that straight blade with the curving end is a bit weird, don't really feel "natural", maybe if you curve the whole blade it would look more "sleek" or leave the curving end and make a classic straight knight sword

@mogster: awesome design . Only crit is that the whole thing is too dark. Don't spare with highlights, and your lighter more vibrant colors
                    Hope I'm understandable.
Made a few brushstrokes with dodge tool on your sword to point out what I'm talking about ( hope you don't mind )

                    keep up the good work
