Love love all the above, seriously this was just an excuse to do this. Can't believe it's been 25 years...

The end of the comic for "Link to the Past" ended with link being appointed the master of the knights, which I think we could roughly approximate to a captain of the guard type thing. The corny tv show touched on the life "after the adventure" as well. I think it would be fun to figure out what that would be like and how link may change in his new found role in service to the Hylian crown.

here is my first little sketch, jumping off of Twilight princess Link. Very familiar in all its design, probably won't go with this one, but a good starting point. Kinda think of it like a royal scout type deal in relation to the story.

Either/or, you can do an illustration of like Link's sword alone if you want. Whatever you feel like

Mad with power, the elven hero succumbs to temptation.

Would be a funny turnaround: Having Gannon as a massive anti-hero, climbing the beautiful Zelda castle in order to dethrone the evil living god that Link became. But I guess they made that game already, and it's called God of War.
