Welcome to Illustrated #8

This time around we're building on Sheridan's story. Recently, the Character Forge activity created The Lancer and he is also included in this weeks topic.

Your Job as part of the visual development team:
Illustrate a shot of this scene…
The setting: The vast ice caverns of Xeemia
The characters: Sheridan and Regulus Colt
Relevant set pieces: the aerial lift our characters are riding

Guidelines

- Keep to the character designs already established.

- Explore all visual possibilities and try to come up with as many interesting ideas as possible.

- All types of media are accepted; digital, traditional, mixed.

- Working File can be any size you want, but final piece should be no wider than 1000 pixels ( you can include detail shots if you want).

- Post FINAL image in FINALS THREADS (to be posted later)

- Please Post your progress in this thread, don't be shy

I think you are safest sticking with the poll winners for each of those rounds. Naetronic said to use the character designs already established, which might mean the concepting of the various entrants of those other rounds, but the ones he specifically used in the above banner made for this thread were the concepts that won the polls.

Yep! The two characters are the important ones. That creature is probably not customarily found down in the resistance caverns. Go for it Sourgasm! Good to see you over here.

Obviously, it will help you sell this if you can do some ice caverns and a trolley system that apparently has a light and hangs from overhead.

is there more to this story posted elsewhere? i assume the other challenges have similar snippets, but you can never have too much when it comes to planning an illustration.

i'm hoping i can scrounge up the time to participate :P

There is additional information about the planet Yir where Sheridan's current story line began and there is additional information about the backstory of Sheridan's parents that is first broached in that Sheridan link but the most recent things Sheridan has been through are summarized in the next paragraph:

The Goron II crashed on an unknown planet while Sheridan was riding it somewhere to do a scientific/tech mission for the family that he was indentured to. http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3513 This planet is a wasteland and is home to the Adjudicator http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3624 and her subjects http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3556 as well as the 8th immortal http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4363 who at http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4738 sent Sheridan to the Planet Xeemia. (Or so it seemed. Did the Eighth Immortal simply wake up an ability that had lain dormant within Sheridan all along?)

Looks like everyone is busy with the disney and thundercat challenge to submit to this one.. I want to submit something but I'm also busy with those 2. Can the deadline be pushed any further?

alright I guess I'll start things off. I need some feedback people, thanks!

the weird circular things in the 1st thumb are ice formations, not plants. or they could be frozen plants. who knows, the painting is still in its infancy.

@IMMAR: you are doing fantastic stuff.
I love the cinematic sense of the middle one but the first sketch has the best dynamic.
