I haven't gotten too into vehicle design but I've heard very good things about Kemp Remillard's Tutorials. Although I'm not sure how many are available for free, he's a fantastic artist.

There's a bunch of tutorials covering a variety of subjects from painting human skin to vehicles on imagine FX magazine. All of the them are available as free downloads on their website WORKSHOP section, with free brushes and progress shots to go with them.

I don't think any of the massive black video tutorials are available for free, unfortunately. =S
I have some from them, and the only thing I can say for now is turn your earphones up for some of them, because of the sound quality. =T
