Here is the original drawing and quick paint I did a couple of months ago and below it is the most recent take.

Sorry it's been so long, I have been tied up with a freelance project.

Here is the latest work on this character.

The piece in it self has a simple composition, but the rendering is where I am having an issue, the gold is a major chore for me!

From now on everything I create will be necked!

Worked on the right hand and the hat a bunch, it feels like I am relearning photoshop... Again!

Remember to paint with the biggest brush you can first and only then go to the smaller brushes. Now the brushwork is kind of similar in most places.
I actually like the sketch better!

I am lacking in couple of different areas with this character.

The Sketch had it's own qualities that were nice, like the gesture and not being to "over-worked" as the further along piece might be.

How ever, I do like were it is... In relation to were it has come from. Now the pose of the character's lower body actually looks like it will support the torso and head. The lighting is better I believe and again the anatomy (which is something that vexes me) is more accurate in a warped sorta way.

I have been doing some anatomy studies of this character... here they are:

This is the last touch up

Here is some of the latest work on fleshing out the species, their shape, and what one of them as a ninja might look like (I know that is silly)!

I have a background story for how this species came about what they hunt and eat mainly and what their culture might be like... But, we'll talk about all of that good stuff later.
