I basically lack the requisite skills at the moment. I am interested, but I have a learning curve ahead of me. I am a little pigheaded and biased toward open source, but hated the Blender interface. I just discovered "Art of Illusion" though, and downloaded the manual yesterday. Once I create my virtual java machine, install Art of Illusion, and do some tutorials I might be in a better position to give this a try.
I would be very interested in a semi-abstract idea like plankton or diatoms. I think the idea about linking it with the 2d activity was not bad. It is sort of like the production environment where 3D people are trying to flesh out concepting done by the 2D team isn't it?

Lol! Meg The Zombie Werewolf Witch got an underwhelming response, but if it had been just Meg the zombie it might have been easier for people to get into.

I'd probably try it. Each of these I try, I learn more and more. In the last few days I learned how to subdivide and deform my meshes correctly. Provided I pull off the hair in that pikachu I am doing I shouldn't have any trouble making a zombie creature (as long as I focus well enough to give it a proper amount of time).

Your ideas are cool. Here is a retro one. Tumithak of the Corridors was a novella from those golden days of Conan and H.P. Lovecraft http://www.mnriv.com/tumithak.html and the bad guys in there were ten legged spidery creatures from Venus with human heads (called Shelks).
