Man of steel is looking sweet

, couple minor things (you might have these in mind already), the perspective of the asteroid looks a tad off in comparison to his hands, looks like on hand is embedded in the rock and the asteroid is hanging behind as opposed to being held up. The other comment is the rim lighting around the head and arms given the size of the asteroid over his head. But if its just artistic license then ignore me :P Keep sharing! Hope all is going well.

been away for a bit, still going through ups and downs as i start this whole career as an artist thing. not gonna lie, its fucking brutal. i have many days in a row where i seriously regret doing this. its tough, especially since i dont get out much, so focused on just trying to get work and get better that i end up just thinking myself into sheer panic. can anyone else relate to this? beer helps though...

Nice update, the designs are looking better and better! I feel for you on the artist front. It's like you set out on a journey that you knew was going to be crazy difficult, but you're pumped and prepared so you start walking.......only to realize it's probably 10x harder than even your highest expectations (which were pretty damn high to begin with). Not to mention watching others practically walk past you to glory as you are struggling sooooo fuckin' hard. It is what it is though. Keep your head up.

Hey Derek, i like the the left character, i think you could push the design a little bit further, bring some more shapes in there around his skirt or something. Also the skin seems to be a bit to purple you could vary some hues in there, just take a reference for the skintone and try to apply it on your character, that might push it. Other than that just keep working. Regarding your career, i can definetly feel you, it can be hard starting out with freelancing, you dont know shit at the beginning, you get paranoid, start doubting yourself and all that crap that comes with it, i had exactly the same and realy stressed myself to a point where i didnt want to do it anymore. All i can say just keep at it, let it fuck you for a while ;D try to enjoy it when you can, work on your portfolio and put your stuff out there, if you keep at it and work hard it will get better!

Fetsch: The purple skin tone was intentional, didnt turn out exactly they way i had in mind, but i dug it enough to keep it. As for my shitty career so far, im hopin man, i know as long as i keep doin exactly what you said, something will turn up eventually. so balls to the wall!

That's a cool design!

And yeah, I can relate. It's a tough path. You feel like crap almost all the time and you question whether this is going to work out or not. Personally, I'm thinking of quitting. I've been at this off and on for almost 10 yrs and I haven't made a dent. Seriously considering calling it quits.
