that's not so long anymore, you are there already.
most a good mate painting they took more hours/days/weeks.
paint tunning are letter. the composition/look and feel and imagination is more important.
they are a lot people who can do the final work.

Trying out matte stuff?

Great aproach, yet i preffer painted works. Pasting pictures is like a dark side of the force it tempts with quick and good results, but in the end it's your mileage and experience that matters.

It's your choice tho and i know alot of environment artists use/abuse photos but it's just my 2 cents.
