@ Mike - Thanks a ton my friend! Really glad you like it. And yeah - you're still right about the strings. Maybe I'll get back to the strings during the time I'll work on the calendar.
I try and I will

another cool thing happens to me I'm currently working on a new book for the awesome guys at Blood Brother Publishing. This time it will be a kind of children's book and written by Guy Kessler. To be honest - a bit more creepy one

At the moment I'm just working on some sketches / explorations - basically to find the right style.
What you'll see her will be not the style of the entire book. But it was lots of fun to get back to the good old pencil and to try some new brushes and techniques.

If the project is "on air" at Kickstarter, I'll post a link here. So stay tuned

Till then…
something to watch.

Hope you'll like it.

@ Mike - Thanks for liking my poor pencil stuff! Much much appreciated! And thanks for liking the color take as well

      @ armandoB - Thanks, mate!

And here we go with another set of good old pencil sketches for the bunny. This time a bit more "stuffed" ones.
I guess I'll go for another color take with number four (last one). Hehe - a good change to get used to my new tool - Painter 12.

      Cheers

      C&C are welcome

@ Jose - THANK YOUUUUU! To be honest - I really don't know! I didn't do anything for it. It happens from time to time that a mails drops in and peeps asking if I could something for them. Guess I could call me a happy boy Now the only thing that could be a bit better is a day with more then 24 hours .D Thanks again, mate!!!

More bunnies and this time - in color

Those painting are based on the sketches I did yesterday. Thought it was time to try something new or better to say, a new render technique. Got my new copy of painter 12 yesterday and was willing to do the entire painting in the new tool. To be honest - I failed Really dig the app so far. Pretty impressive tool and with lots of nice gadgets/features. DAMN! This app has way more settings you could play then PS have or ever will have.
After a time I decided to get back to my comfort zone - Photoshop. There I have all my brushes and I'm pretty familiar with this tool. Especially after 16 years of "PS-ing". But be save - I'll get back to Painter after I have finished all my actual commission. Then it will be more time to find out, what controller will what ever he has to do

Enough of words - here's something to watch. The first one is a more "Bisley-ish" take. Ok - I'm far away from that awesome guy and his superb technique. At least I learned a lot and had a good time
Also I did a step-by-step-thingy for the first Bunny.

      Step-by-Step

And another one. This one was done in roundabout 1 – 1,5 hours…

      Hope you'll like it anyways!

@ rumpelstiltzkin - Thanks a lot for dropping by and the warm words as well. Glad you like what you see here Much appreciated!

OK - I worked on the bunnies a few days and now it was time to get the hand on the main character for that book. Let me introduce: peter, the poor little boy that believes that the easter bunny is a monster

I'll post some more information regarding this project/book soon. Have to wait until the project is up at Kickstarter.

Well - hope you'll like it so far

Great work! I especially like the chest piece on the latest bunny, really has that feel of plastic over it. Well done!

              MALO 100 PAGES! WOOOOOOOOOOO PARTY!

              Anyways, I'm loving your latest character work! Glad to have you back and I hope everything will work out with the book! My only suggestion is with the main character, there is some funky stuff going on with the crotch. Somehow that's become the focal point so it would be better if you simplified the brushstrokes. ^_^;

              Otherwise, MORE DAMN YOU!

@ tschayssen - Thanks dude! And thanks for dropping by as well much appreciated.

@ Mike - Thanks my friend. Hehe - the plastic thing was more of a happy accident, but now I know how to do Thanks again

@ STACE - YEHAAAA! Its a great feeling to have managed 100 sketchbook page. And its good to look back where I have started. At least - a bit of progress Thanks for the warm words. Yeah - hopefully the book will be funded. And yup - you're right. I'll work a bit more on the character and the bunny when the project is funded For now - back to some other stuff

@ Jose - Thanks so much, mate!!! no - just a bit of flow and some relaxed time at work

OK - something different this time (not really different, but again out of my comfort zone). I decide to join a challenge over at DA. Its called "Creature Feature" and because I still suck at creature design - I gave it a shot.
And that it. There a lot that could be tweaked, but have to get back to other work.
Anyways - C&C are highly appreciated.

Wow Malo some of your latest stuff is mind blowing. The badass bunnies are great & I like the direction in which you are taking them.

I knwo what you mean about Painter, I have Painter 10 & there are so many brushes and bits n bobs to play with that it boggles the mind. I often end up back to PS because it is more familiar though.

                Keep up the wicked stuff!
