    Default Fire-Photoshop


    I am looking for information on fire study for painting in photoshop.


    Dont know where to look and my searches came dry probably due to wording any help would be thanked.

      You could try following a reference. The only way to paint fire is to understand what it is you're really painting.

      I once did a black and white study while sitting in front of my fireplace during the winter and attempted to get the contrast right while also making it clear that there's wood in the picture as well. It's easy to throw red and yellows in a picture at max saturation onto objects and call it fire, but more difficult to distinguish this when you take out the color. So breaking it down to the basics could help. A real one instead of a photo would be nice. Just don't forget when you paint fire, it tends to have volume. Especially if we're talking about painting epic scenes of buildings and cities on fire.
