I don't think so. Actually I tend to think that happens anyway with some people to a certain degree. Invariably, during a competition if you see a lot of people participating there are going to be be one or more people that just pull something amazing out of their butt and then it's up to the rest of the people to either want to continue or feel demoralized and stop, especially if there's just not a lot of time left in the competition. My position from the start has been to try to to de-emphasize the timeline just a little bit and allow especially those people with hectic, work lives and/or social lives really stop when they need to and come back to it when they can. Ultimately, when people start logging some serious time into a particular theme they are invested and they're less likely to be all that concerned with what other people are doing at least that's my hope. |

Besides, so far nobody posted anything except me, and if you think my two hour SketchUp drawing is advanced then I am about to start blushing or something.
There are still over three weeks on this and the moderators have given the choice of either a character or an environment. I'd say that's pretty plush accomodations.

I would definitely recommend it. I've found that trying to flesh out themes/concepts that hit a nerve in you have a way of giving you that intense kind of motivation that powers you to learning more and faster than other more bland type of tutorial learning subjects.

All right. I got my Art of Illusion modeller, though the retro future transport I could probably do fine in SketchUp anyway. Do we wait until after Oct. 9 to start Jam #7 or is #7 underway as of today?

Sorry about the lateness Charles. I definitely pays to visit the thread to check the challenge dates. I post the challenges 3 at a time so people can have the kind of lead-up time that will allow them to start at any time.
